What a trip down memory lane! I was a rigger on the F1A's and T4's (I have the scars to prove it!) of No 65(F) Squadron at Coltishall from 1971 to 1973 and will never forget a trip in a T4 with Peter Bryant... a 4G take off! I also remember Oscar practising... the new definition of wing-tip clearance was the distance between the wing tip and the ATC Tower! I was sorry to read of the passing of Brian Carroll... a great jock and a gentleman. I was also at Binbrook (ASF/LTF) 1973 - 1976 and then Saudi (1980 - 1985). During a disimilar combat exercise between an F53 and an F15 in Dhahran, the Lighning flew inside the F15's tight turn, pulling 7G... the F15 pulled 72 rivets!!
