Jaguar GR.1 XX967 at RAF Cosford, 11th June 2023; Jake Wallace

First flown on 24th November 1975, XX967 was delivered to the RAF in January 1976 and flew with 14 Squadron, RAFG Brüggen. When the squadron re-equipped with the Tornado, XX967 was delivered to storage at RAF Shawbury in October 1985.

She retired to ground instructional use at 2 SoTT, RAF Cosford in October 1989. By July 2023 she had moved into external storage alongside several other Jaguar airframes, no longer being used for instructional purposes and was scheduled for disposal.

In mid-April 2024, the Gatwick Aviation Museum acquired her as a donation from RAF Heritage. The airframe arrived at Charlwood on 18th April. Once re-assembled, she will be put on display in the main hangar, with restoration efforts beginning already. Sadly, she won't be a ground runner - part of the conditions of her donation by RAF Heritage preclude this.
