Lightning T.55 55-716 at Riyadh, 9th August 2007; Brian Mouat

First flown on 14th July 1969, this aircraft was built as a replacement for 55-710 which crashed before delivery could be made. Delivered to the Saudis at the end of September 1969, 55-710 served with the LCU and 2 Squadron, and was retired in 1984. Held in storage for many years, she was put on external display at the RSAF Museum in the early 2000s. She's rather faded and dusty, with the rear section of the belly tank not fitted, but as the sole surviving Saudi T.55 actually still in Saudi Arabia she will hopefully get some TLC soon.
