Valiant BK.1 XD857 at Flixton, 16th August 2006; Richard E Flagg
The last mortal remains of Valiant XD857 is this small section of the cockpit. The picture shows the front pressure bulkhead well, and how the nose was cut horizontally around its mid-point, and vertically just behind the pilots' seats. The pilots' deck is still intact but pretty much gutted with little to give away its true identity as a rare Valiant survivor. Hopefully some day soon it will be spruced up and put on display rather than hidden under a tarpaulin!

Its covered over due to extensive damage and shell holes and a lot of missing glass and canopy distortion. And it rains a lot in Suffolk. Oh and corrosion too, needs to be inside especially after 5 years at Manston but unlikely. It was in the open for around 30 years before that - needs a lot of TLC and time.
