What a pitty for the beautiful birds. Bureaucracy kills all vigors.

The TSR looks like the cousen to the Avro Arrow and suffered the same fate.

The same thing happened in Canada in 1959. Pressure from the American government forced the Canadian CF-105 Avro Arrow project to be cancelled. Within two months of the project cancellation, all aircraft, engines, production tooling and design bluprints were ordered destroyed. The USA doesn't like competition, especially when it is better than they are.

Destined to be the "Srike Eagle" of it's day, genius created it, brave men test-flew it and politics killed it. What a sad epitaph for a brilliant aircraft!

Wilson and Healey couldn't tell the truth if their life depended on it. Wanted IMF money and required US support to get it. Did US aviation want the TSR-2 the best potential aircraft in the world? Certainly not. US stance, cancel the TSR-2 and destroy everything and you can have your money. Prove me wrong anyone.

Thanks for posting these great photos of a wonderful looking aircraft. Sadly, all the long hours and hard work by so many on this special TSR-2 project, was never given a chance to see it to completion and production. Aircrafts like this one only come around once!

Thanks for the great reference photos! Just got my Airfix TSR2 today, can't wait to start! Hopefully one day I can get to see one in person.

Today I remember: a world was broken to me as a 15 years old, highly interested boy, when the British Government cancelled the very promising TSR.2 Project.
Thanks for posting the useful walkaround shots.

Wonderful. A great shame that this aircraft was never developed thanks to the bumbling ineffiency of the British Government bureaucracy at the time!
