Buccaneer S.2A XT277 at Welshpool, 10th June 2018; Richard E Flagg

First flown on 9th August 1965, she was delivered to the RN later that month. She served with 809 NAS, shore base RAF Lossiemouth, and at sea with HMS Hermes, coded 320. Initially wearing the standard EDSG paint scheme, she went on to trial an unusual overall 'squirrel grey' paint scheme. Returned to Brough in January 1972, she was converted to S.2A standard and transferred to the RAF in June 1972, serving with 237 OCU at RAF Honington. She was retired in late 1983, being transferred to 2 SoTT at RAF Cosford in October of that year. She carried out ground instructional duties until October 1993 when she was scrapped, with the nose section being saved by Roy Jerman who transported her to Welshpool, where she remains to this day.
