One of the most commercially successful military aircraft produced by the
British aircraft industry, the Canberra was - at least initially - not much better at getting bombs
on target than a WWII Mosquito. However, the airframe turned out to be enormously flexible, relatively
simple to maintain and generally easy to fly. It would be produced in a bewildering variety of marks,
exported all over the world and ended up serving with the RAF from 1951 to 2006. Not bad for a
"jet mosquito".
