English Electric Canberra - Survivor A84-125 (ex WD983)
Mk.21 A84-125 - RAAF Museum (taxiable), Amberley, Queensland, Australia
Canberra Mk.21 A84-125 at Amberley, 18th November 2018; Phil Rawlings
Construction began initially as a B.2 for the RAF, but WD983 was diverted to become an RAAF example in March 1951, allocated the RAAF serial of A84-125 instead. The second Canberra to enter service with the RAAF, she flew with the Long Range Flight at Laverton, including preparation for entry into the England to New Zealand Air Race, and was later converted to Mk.21 trainer configuration in 1959. She is known to have served with the Aircraft Research and Development Unit but little else has turned up on her history - assistance welcome!
