English Electric Canberra - Survivor WE173
PR.3 WE173 - Robertsbridge Aviation Society, Robertsbridge, East Sussex
Canberra PR.3 WE173 at Robertsbridge Aviation Society, 29th September 2013; Richard E Flagg
Delivered to the RAF in 1953, WE173 retired to Coltishall in 1982 and became 8740M for ground instructional use at the base.
Once Coltishall had finished with the airframe, it was moved to Hanningfield Metals where she was sadly scrapped. Thankfully, the cockpit of WE173 was purchased by Robertsbridge Aviation Society and can still be seen there today.
Although it is rather tightly packed in, she is preserved undercover. This collection is only open to the public on the odd occasion so best to check when they are next open before just turning up.
