Canberra T.17 WK102 at Welshpool, 10th June 2018; Richard E Flagg

WK102 was built as a T.4 in 1953 and spent her early career with 207 squadron, a period with 75 Squadron, RNZAF and then back to the RAF and 45 squadron. She was later returned to BAC for conversion to T.17, being delivered to the RAF/RN 360 Squadron in 1967.

Retired in 1983, like many Canberras, WK102 was transferred to the No.2 School of Technical Training at RAF Cosford where she received the maintenance number 8780M. The aircraft was up for disposal in September 1991 but was scrapped months later with the cockpit, thankfully, being saved and purchased by private collectors Sue and Roy who moved it to Welshpool. WK102 has been undercover ever since she moved to Welshpool and is kept in good condition. The cockpit can be viewed by appointment only.
