Canberra B.2 WK146 at Gatwick Aviation Museum, 26th June 2021; Jake Wallace

WK146 had a very short flying career with it being delivered to the Royal Air Force in 1954 and was placed into storage just three years later at No.15 MU Wroughton before being scrapped sold and scrapped in 1967. The nose section was saved and got transferred to Abingdon for ground instructional use for several years.

The cockpit was saved for preservation and was delivered to the Gatwick Aviation Museum in Charlwood and has been seen on display in bare metal with large pieces of skin removed allowing visitors to have a good look at the structure of the Canberra.

The museum was closed to the public when the photo above was taken, and the cockpit was a little cramped due to volunteers re-organizing the hangar before reopening.
