Folland Gnat - Survivor E1214
F.1 E1214 - Planes of Fame (stored), Valle, Arizona, USA
Gnat F.1 E1214 at Valle, March 2009; Paul Bradley
A HAL-built F.1, E1214 served with 2 Squadron and was retired at some point in the 1990s. Acquired by warbird collector Dave Talichet aong with several other Gnats, they were put into storage with his Military Aircraft Restoration Corporation (MARC) at Chino but by March 2009, as Paul's photo shows, E1214 was to be found in the storage compound alongside the Planes of Fame museum at Valle in Arizona. She is dismantled but most of her major components are to be found alongside her. Open storage for many years has not done her any favours and various panels and the canopy are missing.
