First flying in May 1974, XX727 was delivered to the RAF a few months later in July. After having a 10-year flying career, the airframe made her last flight into Shawbury in July 1984 for storage alongside many other Jaguars.
In early 1988, XX727 was transported to RAF Cosford where she joined the No.2 School of Technical Training (since changed to the No.1), where she became a ground instructional aircraft for many decades. She was given a maintenance number - 8951M, and whilst she spent the majority of the time hidden from the public eye, she could occasionally be seen on the static display at the Cosford airshow or on group tours around the hangars.
In 2023, she was acquired by the South Wales Aviation Museum, arriving on site on the 26th of May 2023, where she is now on public display inside the museum's hangar.
