SEPECAT Jaguar - Survivor XX975 (8905M)
GR.1 XX975 - Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre, RAF Montrose, Forfarshire, Scotland
Jaguar GR.1 XX975 at RAF Cosford, 9th June 2024; Jake Wallace
First flown on 12th January 1976, XX975 was delivered to the RAF later in the month and entered service with 226 OCU at RAF Lossiemouth, coded 07. Unusually for an OCU jet, she was retired relatively early in 1985, entering storage at RAF Shawbury in December of that year.
By November 1986 she had moved to RAF Halton and 1 SoTT for ground instructional use. She later moved to 2 SoTT at RAF Cosford, and has been there ever since.
By June 2024 XX975 was pushed into the undergrowth for external storage and appeared to have been stripped of several panels. Just over a month later, it had been announced that XX975 had been acquired by the Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre where it will now be placed on display.
