Jaguar GR.1A XX979 at Old Buckenham, 27th July 2024; Damien Burke

XX979 first took to the skies on the 27th January 1976 and retired at St Athan for storage in September 1999. The airframe was pulled out of storage in 2002 and was road moved to RAF Coltishall as ground instructional airframe 9306M. XX979 was then used for spares recovery during 2005 and then scrapped, with the nose being retained.

The cockpit was transported to the RAF Neatishead Radar Museum in 2006 and has been seen on display there ever since - she's also used as a travelling exhibit at local events such as the Old Buckenham airshow.
