SEPECAT Jaguar - Survivor XX110 (8955M)
GR.1 XX110 - RAF Cosford ('gate guardian', displayed), Shropshire
Jaguar GR.1 XX110 at RAF Cosford, 18th April 2018; RAF Cosford
The third production GR.1, XX110 first flew on 1st March 1974 and entered service with 226 OCU in April 1976. By 1983 she had moved to 6 Squadron at Coltishall and was retired by July 1985, being placed into storage at Shawbury. Transferred to Cosford for ground training use in 1989, she's been ever since, gaining a current desert pink scheme in 1995.
After her ground instructional use came to an end she was put on display within the station as a 'gate guardian' (nowhere near the gate!), having been repainted into this inaccurate overall grey scheme with 6 Squadron markings. Sadly the roundels and fin flashes have faded badly to add to her odd appearance.
