Lightning F.3 XP745 at Greenford, 3rd October 2020; Alan Wilson

The aircrafts first flight was on 18th March 1964 and retired in 1976 before going on gate guard duties at Boulmer as 8453M. XP745 was then replaced by Phantom XV415 at Boulmer and so was sold to Vanguard Engineering in 1992 while at an auction, who transported it too one of their warehouses for storage.

After many years of being in storage, the aircraft finally got some TLC by a handful of volunteers by 2016 who started replacing corroded parts of the airframe.

XP745 was then transported to North Weald in January 2019 where she was repainted into 56 Sqn colours, and by March she was road-moved to one of Vanguard's buildings, this one being in Bristol. By June, it was suspended from the ceiling with the nose facing slightly down, and this is how it can be seen today.
