Hawker Siddeley Nimrod - Survivor XW665
R.1 XW665 - Technik Museum Sinsheim (stored), Sinsheim, Germany
Nimrod R.1 XW665 at Sinsheim, 21st October 2016; Richard E Flagg
XW665 served with 51 Sqn alongside XW664, XW666 and XV249.
The airframe was grounded on 27th October 2010 at RAF Waddington where she was later scrapped in the summer of 2011. Thankfully the front fuselage was saved and sold to the Tecknik Museum in Sinsheim, Germany. XW665 was delivered to the museum in August of that same year and was put into a storage yard. Sadly it appears that she has been sat there ever since, fading and getting dirtier each year.
