Sea Hawk FGA.4 Unknown at Parbold, 14th September 2024; Steve Jones

A mystery Sea Hawk nose, this one. Displayed at the now long-defunct Wales Aircraft Museum in Cardiff, initially in red and then extra dark sea grey colours, it moved on to a new owner and was squirrelled away in a garage in Somerset for 20 years or so. In 2008 Graham Sparkes acquired her and during his restoration efforts and research into a possible identity, came to the conclusion that it is now thought to have been an unused FGA.4 nose section that was never finished off and never used on a full airframe, due to a variety of missing details.

In May 2024 Steve acquired the nose section and is embarking on another restoration with the aim of giving her a new paint scheme and turning her into a flight simulator. You can keep up with progress on his Facebook group.
